“can’t a person sleep in peace” at the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art Five Minute Film Festival

Still from “Can’t A Person Sleep in Peace” by Dani Lamorte.

I just received notice that my 2015 video can’t a person sleep in peace will be included in the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art’s Five Minute Film Festival! can’t a person sleep in peace stars my long-time collaborator John Musser / Veronica Bleaus as a campy, confused creature living in a tent full of Raisin Bran and Geraldo. Harrison Apple was my lovely assistant producer for the video.

The footage for can’t a person sleep in peace was originally created for the webseries Harrison and I produced back in 2014-2015, Suffa with Mahogany La Piranha. In the never-created segment, Veronica read the children’s book “Goose Goofs Off.” When the webseries ended I decided to put all that footage to use in a new way. As with all the Suffa footage, can’t a person sleep in peace is a mix of mini-DV and digital video.

The Five Minute Film Festival will be held June 21, 2018 at the Tucson Museum of Contemporary Art. Check out the Facebook event for more information!
